Integration of information as a factor of generating semantically complicated sentences in colloquial speech

The article conducts a multidimensional study of two semantically condensed evaluation sentences specifi c for everyday colloquial speech: N1 – (это) Adv-o and Adv – (не) значит Adv. In colloquial speech, the subject of the conversation is most often not described, but evaluated by the participants of the social interaction, and this assessment, as a rule, does not need motivation.

About the semantics of the word “cowardly” in the Russian language of the 18th–19th centuries and the meaning of the moral of Sumarokov’s fable The Hare and the Frogs

The article discusses the problem of studying the semantics of the word “cowardly” in the Russian language of the 18th and 19th centuries. The meaning of this lexeme has radically changed over time – this is evidenced by contexts from various sources (both documentary, scientific, and artistic).

Signs of time and representation of actual events in texts of modern wishes

Such a speech genre as wishing, which functions both in real communication and in the Internet environment, has considerable flexibility in terms of content, despite the rather stereotypical forms of expression. The content of wishes is traditionally influenced by the personality factor of the addressee, their gender, age, social and professional affiliation, hobbies. In addition, the wish genre actively responds to changes taking place in the social sphere. Themes, vocabulary and intertextuality of wishes reflect various processes that occur in the modern culture.

The concept of (non)return in the poetry of G. Ivanov and G. Adamovich (to the 100th anniversary of emigration)

The article deals with the reconstruction of the concept of (non)return in the lyrical poetry of G. Adamovich and G. Ivanov. The concept is considered in two ways: as an image in the space of culture and as a methodological formula for the analysis of images of the artistic consciousness. The main lexical means of representing the concept are cognate verb forms, the most frequent of which is the verb “return”.

The role of intralinguistic factors in recreating stylistic equivalents in literary translation (exemplified by American fiction)

The paper proposes viewing intralinguistic factors inherent in the source and target languages as strictly given organized systems, being effective means in recreating the original’s various stylistic peculiarities in its translated version and in attaining its stylistic equivalence.

New suffixal verbs and the formation of new verbal derivational types in the Russian language of the 18th century

The article deals with the problem of language neologization on the example of suffixal verbal neologisms. The author focuses on the dynamic aspect of studying the process of language neologization, in which it becomes possible to identify the dynamics of the interaction of word-formation types and their formation. Such an approach makes it possible to reveal the tendencies of the process of neologization both in a certain period of linguistic history, in the future, and in linguistic diachrony as a whole.

The linguistic heritage of A. P. Dulzon as a source for studying the German toponymy of the Volga region

The article deals with the detailed research of the German microtoponymy of the Volga region. The toponym source is the doctoral thesis of a famous Russian linguist A. P. Dulzon, with a special chapter, where a list of 1049 geographical names of the Volga Germans is presented. The linguistic heritage of A. P.

On the specifi c features of legal translation (A comparative study of the German, French and Spanish languages)

Legal terms are not uniform at the international level, but they are closely connected with a national legal system. This implies serious conceptual inconsistencies. The above-mentioned systemic connection leads to the fact that either boundaries of terms’ meanings belonging to diff erent jurisdictions or the degree of their explication may vary.

The study of the color picture of the world is of interest in the linguistic and cultural aspect, since color is one of the most important means of emotional impact on the reader, color meanings express the author’s view of the world, and are also important for constructing a national picture of the world. There are some patterns that link color values in diff erent cultures of the world. It is worth noting that there are diff erences in color symbols in diff erent languages.
