Descriptive Part of the Judicial Decision: Stylistic Model and its Realization (Stylistic Features)

The article studies stylistic peculiarities of the descriptive part of the judicial decision. Particular attention is paid to such issues as passage division of the text, the usage of verbal nouns, pronouns, and conjunction also.

Analysis of High-frequency Dialect Lexis (Based on Dialect Corpus of Saratov Region)

The article is dedicated to the study of the composition of highfrequency dialect lexis and to the definition of linguistic world-image characteristics of dialect speakers.

On the Phenomenon of Phonetic Interference as a Result of Bilingualism in the Territorial Variant of Texan English (Based on the Recordings of Texan Spanish-Speaking People’s Songs)

This article studies some phonetic features of the territorial variant of Texan English which are caused by the bilingual situation developing in Texas under the influence of Hispanic variant of Spanish. The examples of words with specific vowels and consonant changes are given in the article.

Peculiarities of Speech Realization on the Internet

The subject matter of the article is the peculiarity of the communication channel on the Internet. A close analysis of Forums, Chats and ICQ has given an opportunity to single out three types of text organization of Internet communication (text-conversation, discourse, Internetdiscussion,) and to prove that the Internet uses both direct and indirect channels of communication. 

METAPHORICAL AND METHONYMIC COGNITIVE MODELS IN THE CONCEPTUAL SPACE OF IDITIC

The approach proposed in the article to the idiost of G. Ivanov is based on the hypothesis of a two-level structure of the poetic conceptosphere, which includes the concepts of author's consciousness on the one hand and more complex conceptual structures-cognitive models of interaction of concepts-on the other. The article considers such forms of organization of the conceptual space of idiostyle, as metaphorical and metonymic cognitive models.

The Principle of Politeness in Forming English Direct Request: Diachronic Analysis

The article represents diachronic analysis of what changes the formation and usage of direct requests have undergone in British English. Special attention is paid to diachronic changes in the frequency of direct requests, as well as to the means of softening and intensifying direct requests.

Condolences: a Linguistic Perspective (on the Material of the German language)

The article deals with a specific type of etiquette statements – condolences. The first part analyzes the pragmatic conditions for making the relevant speech acts, then the author covers the language operators which generate and modify the sense elements of condolences. The paper concludes with a view on indirect ways of expressing condolences.

Linguistic Terms of Latin Origin: Etymology or Derivation?

The article highlights differences between root morphemes and radixoids of Latin origin in the structure of linguistic terms and specific units of term formation – term elements.

The article discusses the issues related to the problems of communicative-discoursive variation of symbols of culture in the fictional text. The material of the research is the novel «The Joy Luck Club» by the modern American writer of the Chinese origin Amy Tan.
