Arabic Lexis in the Maghrebian French, Specifics of Adaptation

The article is dedicated to the analysis of Arabic lexis adopted by the Maghrebian French. Grammar and phonetic peculiarities are characterized, reasons of pronunciation variability are determined, and it is attempted to describe semantic transformations of the Arabisms under research in the French language.

Event and Its Participants (Based on the Associative Fields of Event Stimuli)

The article deals with event structure in the form in which it is reflected in the associative fields of the event names. The emphasis is made on the slot «Event participants», marked out in the procedure of the frame analysis of event stimuli’s associative fields. Different types of events are shown to have their own typical sets of participants; further analysis is made to mark out the participants’ ontological varieties, as well as the roles performed by them in what is going on.

VARIATION OF SUSTAINABLE DRAWINGS IN DIALECTIC TEXTS (ON THE MATERIAL OF THE TEXT CASE BY S. BELOGORNY)

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of dialect communication, the factors of variation of a stable plot within the framework of one dialect are considered.

CULTURAL AND CONCEPTUAL FEATURES OF TRANSLATION OF RUSSIAN PHILOSOPHIC TEXTS TO FRENCH LANGUAGE

The article is devoted to the linguistic and conceptual features of the translation into French of the texts of the Russian philosopher of the twentieth century. A. Losev. On the one hand, we are talking about the designation of different concepts with one unit of the language of translation; The absence of words and expressions makes the translator look for other lexical means.

DERIVATIVE OPPORTUNITIES OF THE WORD-FORMING METAPHOR

The essence of the concept "word-forming metaphor" is disclosed in the article, the semantic potential of derivatives with metaphorical motivation is explored, the causes of derivational activity or inactivity of word-forming metaphors are revealed.

Mentefact «Massif» in Russian and German National Discourses

In the article the discourse representation of the mentefact massif is analyzed on the material of the text corpuses of the Russian and German languages; structure and content as well as communicative and discursive characteristics of this mental unit are revealed.

Semantic Field «Food» as a Means of Russian Idiom Formation

The article analyzes Russian idioms comprising the members of the semantic field «Food». The frequency of occurrence of different field members is identified as a source of idiom formation. The role of these idioms in representing the Russian linguistic picture of the world is determined.

Image of the City in Dina Rubina’s Story «High Water Venetians»

In the article an attempt is made to analyze the peculiarity of the structure of space in Dina Rubina’s novel «High Water Venetians». Venice is viewed as a field with a nuclear and peripheral spheres. Field analysis of language components allows to see a live, evolving image of the city directly linked to the internal state of the main character.

Types of Hybridity in Computer-Mediated Communication

The article deals with different types of hybridity as a global category of computer-mediated communication. In the article hybridity is defined as a mixture of orthographical, lexical, syntactical, stylistic, semiotic and genre forms in one linguistic unit (word, sentence or text).

Verbal Sentence: Pragmatics vs. Semantics, Pragmatics vs. Grammar

The article discusses a Russian verbal sentence in terms of pragmatic strategies and their predictable
influence on grammatical and semantic structure of the sentence. Some noticed regularities
are being discussed. They are determined by vectors pragmatics – semantics and pragmatics – grammar in the verbal sentence’s field, which is being treated as a certain linguistic construct. Pragmatics
in the verbal sentence’s field manifests as variability of the content and form of the sentence.
