YOUTH PRESS AS A COMPONENT OF STUDENT LIFE

The article considers the youth press of modern Russia as an important component of student life. On the example of three youth newspapers ("Student City", "Gaudeamus" and "Cactus"), the author offers an analysis of the thematic variety of journalistic materials about student life, reviews the most popular genres and headings of youth publications, draws conclusions about the level of interactivity of the modern student press.

Media Discourse vs. Newspaper Style

The article is devoted to the comparative investigation of different approaches to linguistic studies of the media language. The following tasks are being solved in the course of our work: theoretical issues concerning the differentiation of the notions of functional style and discourse are defined; the above mentioned studies are analyzed in their relation to each other; distinctive media discourse and newspaper style features are highlighted.

TOLERANT AND INTOLERANT BEHAVIOR IN THE MEDIA

The article analyzes the problems of tolerant and intolerant behavior in Russian and American media.

The Study of Special Aspects of Microblog Text Comprehension (on the Material of the Text Comment)

The article deals with psycholinguistic mechanisms of a microblog text comprehension and interpretation. The article demonstrates the results of the comparative analysis of content and relative reaction interaction in the process of different text type comprehension; the results given were received with the help of the «counter-text» method.

Foreign Words in the Russian Press of Tajikistan: Ways of Incorporation Into the Text

The article deals with foreign words in the Russian media in Tajikistan, primarily borrowing from the Tajik (Persian) and the English languages. Ways, causes, and methods of loan word implementation into the Russian text of the Republic of Tajikistan are explained.

Literary Materials in the Newspaper Izvestiya VZIK in the 1920–1923

The article presents the analysis of literary materials published on the pages of the newspaper Izvestiya VZIK (All-Russian Central Executive Committee News) in the 1920–1923, which give an understanding of the requirements imposed on the reader, writer, critic, literary work; the article focuses on the works by P. S. Kogan and A. V. Lunacharsky.

The emergence and development of the student's period in Russia

The article presents the history of the birth and formation of the Russian student periodicals. The author considers the first manifestations of the life of the student press of Russia in the unofficial "samizdat" periodicals published in educational institutions; in wall newspapers approved by the administration of higher, secondary and secondary specialized educational institutions; in high school periodicals; in the socio-political press that pays attention to student topics.

The Features of TV and Radio Channels’ Integration with Social Networks in Chuvash Republic

The article considers the interaction of electronic mass media of Chuvash Republic with social networks. The authors identify the features of such integration of the state and commercial broadcasters, analyze the contents of the most successful mass media of the region, evaluate the editorial boards’ policies towards managing the activities promoting their mass media in social networks.

Creating the Image of Russia in Political Tension Conditions (Based on American Press)

The article deals with the analysis of speech means of forming the image of Russia in political tension conditions (based on publications in the New York Times and Washington Post newspapers).

The article considers the use of various methods in terms of competence approach to teaching future journalists foreign languages.
