TURKEY IN THE COMPLETION OF THE NEWSPAPER "THE TRUTH" OF 1938

The work is devoted to an important episode in the history of Russian Soviet journalism - the interpretation of Soviet-Turkish relations in 1938 - the last year of the life of Ataturk's president. The problems of creating the image of a major politician representing a foreign state are considered.

‘Labeling’ as a Technique of Information Manipulation in Mass Media

The article considers the issue of information manipulation in mass media texts. One of the manipulative techniques – labeling – is researched. The examples from the modern general interest media (Rossiyskaya gazeta, Novaya gazeta, Moskovsky komsomolets) are analyzed.

The French language in Quebec is different from the general French norm. Its specifics are clearly manifested in the pages of printed media, on local radio and television. At the same time, Canadian media largely influence the development of a local standard. This article is devoted to the analysis of the quality of the French language of the Canadian media and its impact on national language.

 

Representing Judicial Power in the Russian and English Printed Media Discourse: Activation Strategy

The author examines discursive means of framing the judiciary system image that actualizes the activation strategy. The paper focuses on two variants of this strategy: positive and negative ones constructing a positive or a negative image of judicial power respectively.

The article analyzes the role of Literaturnaya Gazeta (Literary Newspaper) in the organization of the First Congress of soviet writers in 1934 and the newspaper’s participation in the formation of the myth of the universal attention of Soviet citizens to the literary life of the country.
