Metaphor in the Speech of Spanish Politicians (on the Material of the Spanish Newspaper and Journalistic Discourse)

This article discusses the functioning of metaphors in the Spanish newspaper and journalistic discourse. Based on media publications – EL MUNDO and EL PAÍS – concerning some of the most memorable and important recent events in the international life an analysis of the use of metaphors by Spanish politicians has been carried out. It is concluded that the Spanish political discourse is characterized by emotionality and imagery, which not only determine the use of rhetorical language tools, but also highlight unique features of the Spanish linguistic culture.

Linguostylistic Peculiarities of Social Advertising (a Case Study of the German Media)

The paper describes the most common linguistic and stylistic devices (precedent phenomena, pun, metaphor, syntactical expressive means, etc.) used in German social advertising. These devices have a great potential to make the advertising communication more expressive and effective.

The article reviews the features of polysemic nouns in the French language in France. A detailed classification of metaphoric and metonymic models of polysemic substantive regionalisms is given.

The Functions of Metaphor in the Modern Speech of French Military Servicemen

Using the examples from the non-fiction and memoir works by the French military servicemen on active duty in the French expeditionary forces from 2001 to 2012, the author identifies and analyzes the functions of metaphor. The author determines the role of metaphor in the contemporary speech of French servicemen based on the results of the present research.

LANGUAGE PICTURE OF THE WORLD OF CARRIERS OF "MOBILE JARGON" (ON METAPHOR MATERIAL)

"Mobile" jargon is a living and heterogeneous composition of the vocabulary of the Russian language, which has a number of features. The development of this linguistic phenomenon and its wide distribution among the speakers of the Russian language are conditioned by the introduction of mobile technologies in the life of modern society. Most units of this idiom are formed on the basis of metaphorical transfer. The lexemes used by the carriers of this jargon as a source of metaphorization are extremely diverse.

INTERNET-COMMUNICATION IN METAPHORES MIRROR

The article is devoted to the analysis of the metaphorical subsystem of network slang, in particular, the basic groups of vocabulary used as a source of the formation of portable slang values are established; their comparison with general linguistic tendencies is given; the system of sources of metaphorization is considered as a reflection of the original picture of the world of the carriers of this idiom.

METAPHORICAL AND METHONYMIC COGNITIVE MODELS IN THE CONCEPTUAL SPACE OF IDITIC

The approach proposed in the article to the idiost of G. Ivanov is based on the hypothesis of a two-level structure of the poetic conceptosphere, which includes the concepts of author's consciousness on the one hand and more complex conceptual structures-cognitive models of interaction of concepts-on the other. The article considers such forms of organization of the conceptual space of idiostyle, as metaphorical and metonymic cognitive models.
