The article reveals the dependence of phraseological unit transformation on the newspaper article genre; the frequency, ways of transformations, and the stylistic functions of the transformed phraseological units in different genres are considered.

The article considers a comparative usage of French and Russian color adjectives in modern printed media. The author finds out common features and differences on the semantic, lexical and syntactic levels. The interdependence between the components of the phraseological units of color adjectives is identified.

The article presents the semantic differentiation of the Arabic idioms with the words from the semantic field ‘nutrition’; the degree of phraseological units activity in the replenishment of different semantic spheres and fields is identified; the basic models of idiomatization are singled out as well as the role of conceptual, cultural and historical factors in this process.

The article deals with the research of the concept labour in the traditional world picture of the English language. This concept has a layered structure. The informative (notional) zone of the concept is to a large degree predetermined by its lexical representatives within the idioms, and the evaluative zone helps to reveal the attitude of the linguistic community to this phenomenon.

The article reveals the dependence of phraseological unit transformation on the author’s written style; the frequency, types of phraseological transformations and their stylistic functions are compared in the idiostyles of Russian and German journalists.

To the issue of the phraseological stock of insular german dialects

The article discusses the problem of dialect phraseology research of insular German dialects. The fact, that insular German dialects were isolated and influenced by the Russian language and the Russian-speaking environment for a long time, has affected the phraseological stock of the dialects and can be explained by the factors which determine the tendency in the ethnic assimilation processes.
