“Modern speech communication in different spheres of society”: Results of the International Conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Professor O. B. Sirotinina

The article reviews the International Conference “Modern speech communication in different spheres of society” that took place on October 20–21, 2023, at the Institute of Philology and Journalism of Saratov State University. The conference was dedicated to a unique event – the 100th anniversary of SSU professor, an outstanding linguist, Olga Borisovna Sirotinina. Researchers from different cities of Russia and different countries (Armenia, Poland, Mongolia) responded to this significant event.

Отношение носителей русского языка к его нормам: динамический аспект

Разные исторические периоды характеризуются неодинаковым отношением носителей русского языка к его нормам. Советский период русской истории ознаменован борьбой за чистоту и правильность русской речи. При этом охрана норм русского языка была наполнена глубоким идеологическим смыслом, поскольку русский язык выступает как единое средство общения для многонационального населения СССР. Период перестройки характеризуется борьбой с советским официозом, что находит выражение в демократизации и вульгаризации речи, отмене цензуры в СМИ.

Usage of Substandard Vocabulary in Printed Mass Media as a Result of the General Trend Towards Conversationalization of Media Discourse

The article presents the analysis of substandard vocabulary that is used in Russian newspapers of various types. It describes these words’ functions, frequency of occurrence and ways of introducing them.

Foreign Words in the Russian Press of Tajikistan: Ways of Incorporation Into the Text

The article deals with foreign words in the Russian media in Tajikistan, primarily borrowing from the Tajik (Persian) and the English languages. Ways, causes, and methods of loan word implementation into the Russian text of the Republic of Tajikistan are explained.
