The syntactic method of word formation as an effective way of professional languages replenishment (based on the material of English-language terminology of customs and television)

This article is devoted to the consideration of the term system as a set of professional knowledge terms using the example of English customs activity (further referred to as CA) and television (further referred to as TV) fields. Nowadays, there are dynamic digitalization and computerization processes of the main activity areas, including CA. The usage of modern information technologies and telecommunications simplifies the basic CA processes significantly. Therefore, it can be mentioned the presence of the term systems intersectoral links.

DERIVATIVE OPPORTUNITIES OF THE WORD-FORMING METAPHOR

The essence of the concept "word-forming metaphor" is disclosed in the article, the semantic potential of derivatives with metaphorical motivation is explored, the causes of derivational activity or inactivity of word-forming metaphors are revealed.

An Elusive Meaning of Robert Pinget’s Novel L’Inquisitoire (Based on the Comparative and Contrastive Analysis of Translators’ Solutions)

The article analyzes some special features of Robert Pinget’s style based on the comparative analysis of the original and the Russian translation. The stylistic effect of an ‘elusive meaning’ is considered within the framework of the French ‘le nouveau roman’. Several options of the title translation as well as analyzed lexical and syntactic challenges of the original are shown in order to reveal and highlight the artistic value of the original text.

Lexical and Semantic Group of Color Terms in Modern Germanic Languages

The article reviews the semantic field of color terms in Germanic languages: its structure, characteristic features of the basic part and periphery formation, development trends. Based on lexical and semantic groups of color term adjectives of the English and German languages, the authors determine general and specific features in word formation and semantic processes in the semantic field under research.

The article highlights the main milestones of the life and work of E. P. Kadkalova, a prominent Russian of the Saratov linguistic scientific school. The characteristic features of E. P. Kadkalova as a researcher and a person, the fundamental features of her methodology are highlighted.
