The World-picture in the «Mobile» Jargon (on the material of metaphors)

“Mobile” jargon being lively and heterogeneous in structure presents a specific level of the Russian language. The development of this language phenomenon and its spread among the Russian language speakers are determined by the penetration of mobile technologies into the life of modern society. The majority of the items of this idiom are formed by means of metaphoric transfer. The lexemes used by “mobile” jargon users as the source for metaphors are extremely various.

The article deals with the correlation of the concepts "language picture of the world", "world picture" and "conceptual picture of the world". The possibilities of reflecting the linguistic picture of the world at various language levels are shown. The national-cultural specificity of phraseological units in different languages is analyzed.

Variants of the legal picture of the world in the English language

The article deals with different variants of the legal picture of the world emerging in the literary English language and its sociolects (terminology and jargon). The analysis shows that the diversity of the linguistic legal picture depends on the social and functional stratification of the language and various extra-linguistic factors.

The linguistic and cultural aspects of color meanings in the language picture of the world (Based on the material of English and Russian languages)

The study of the color picture of the world is of interest in the linguistic and cultural aspect, since color is one of the most important means of emotional impact on the reader, color meanings express the author’s view of the world, and are also important for constructing a national picture of the world. There are some patterns that link color values in diff erent cultures of the world. It is worth noting that there are diff erences in color symbols in diff erent languages.
