Autors:
Fedotova Svetlana V., Tambov State University named after G. R. Derzhavin
Abstract:

The article analyzes the use of nouns of the general kind in modern Spanish: two main trends of their transformation are considered in the framework of the process of linguistic feminization, which has become more acute in the last decade, the causes of such changes are being studied. The second part of the work describes the main events of the Hispanic world, which have influenced the eradication of linguistic discrimination on the basis of gender in the modern Spanish language of official authorities, mass media, educational institutions.

Reference:

1 Words with suffixes -ante and -ente either come from
present participle of the Latin language (on
example, presidente), or formed directly
in the Spanish language in the process of substantivization from
present verb participle (for example,
estudiante). In Latin, these participles
have one single ending for all three genera, and in
Spanish they also refer to the creator-
of a generic genus.
