The features of visual poetics of Sigizmund Krzhizhanovsky are considered in the article. The technique of «estrangement» as described by the Russian formalists is traced in the writer’s prose.
The article analyzes different functions of the short-sightedness motive in the autobiographical book by A. Remizov. The role of this motive in the writer’s philosophy is specially focused on.
The monograph under review is a continuation of the author’s research in the field of visual poetics of the Russian literature. The ‘optics’ proposed in the book allows to see the medical plots of literary texts in a new way, to comprehend aesthetic and existential experience of the disease.
