The article offers a brief overview of the formation of the allochthonous ethnic group of the Volga Germans and the main directions of the formation of the corpus of terminological vocabulary of this ethnic group in the conditions of a language island. The purpose of the study is to determine the main sources from which the terminological vocabulary of the material ethnography of the Volga Germans was formed.
