Three Time-planes of London in «The House of Doctor Dee» by Peter Ackroyd

The article studies the image of London and explores its main characteristics in the novel by a contemporary British postmodernist P. Ackroyd.

Миромоделирующие универсалии детства в повести М. А. Осоргина «Из маленького домика»

Целью настоящей статьи явилось рассмотрение специфики художественного воплощения компонентов художественной модели мира детства автора в повести «Из маленького домика» писателя Русского зарубежья первой волны Михаила Андреевича Осоргина. Еще одной важной проблемой исследования явилось раскрытие вопроса о первоосновах человеческой жизни. Автор-повествователь предстает центральной миромоделирующей категорией произведения. Он вспоминает, размышляет, описывает себя в детстве. Все в произведении подчинено авторской творческой силе, его внутренним переживаниям, ощущениям.

Time and Thing (on the Material of the Poetry by S. Surganova)

In this article the approaches to the research of the poetic and song heritage of S. Surganova are outlined; the author’s ideas of time and space are analyzed.

Strangeness of Time and Space: Based on the Material of the Story «Nevsky Prospekt» by N. V. Gogol

The article investigates strange transformations which occur to the categories of time and space in the story “Nevsky Prospekt”. An attempt is undertaken to explain the concentration of these metamorphoses on the stylistic level of the story and to confirm the psychic nature of the strange as a certain world lookout ingrained in the subject’s consciousness.

Plot and Space Complex «Border Crossing» in Klaus Mann’s Novel «The Volcano» (based on the material of the heroine’s plot-line)

The article deals with various aspects of interrelation between plot and space structure of Klaus Mann’s émigré novel «The Volcano». The author of the article analyzes the heroine of the novel crossing the symbolic border between the world of the dead and the living, which presupposes crossing the border between different zones of the exile space. In the article it is shown that sacrifice is a necessary condition of the border crossing.

Image of the City in Dina Rubina’s Story «High Water Venetians»

In the article an attempt is made to analyze the peculiarity of the structure of space in Dina Rubina’s novel «High Water Venetians». Venice is viewed as a field with a nuclear and peripheral spheres. Field analysis of language components allows to see a live, evolving image of the city directly linked to the internal state of the main character.

On the Poetic Transcendence of N. Gumilyov

The article considers the techniques of formal organization of the transcendent lyric poetry and the peculiarity of its spatial structure. Different types of poetic transcendence are analyzed on the example of N. Gumilyov’s poems, their characteristic features are singled out.

BORDER FACILITIES OF THE INLET / OUTPUT IN THE FOLKLORE HOUSE

The article offers a comparative lexico-semiotic study of the concepts of the folklore picture of the world on the basis of the genre of the folk ballad. On the basis of the thesaurus description of the most frequent lexemes, denoting the boundary loci of entry and exit in the English and Russian houses, the author analyzes the similarities and differences in the socio-cultural representations of the two peoples.

Lermontov’s Taman: Space, Characters, Plot

The article analyzes the principles of space and plot interaction in Lermontov’s Taman. The author examines the features of mythologizing space. The plot roles of the characters and the paradoxes of Pechorin’s behavior are studied. The correlation of the incident and destiny in the development of the plot is specified. A special place of the story in the semantic structure of Pechorin’s Diary is revealed.

Oppositions of Spatial Code in the Poems of Elena Shvartz

The article describes oppositions of spatial code and shows the ways of its representation in the poems of Elena Shvartz. Special features of how the spatial code functions in the author’s artistic world are also considered. The correlation between the poet’s choice of a particular spatial opposition and the artistic message is identified.
