Specific features of interpretation focuses in media discourse: Cognitive approach

The article examines the specific features of how the interpretation focuses are implemented in the description of a political event by news publications of different ideological bents from the perspective of the cognitive approach. This approach allows to identify factors and cognitive mechanisms aimed at processing information and its interpretation, taking into account the intentions of the author of the news publication. The purpose of the study is to determine the specific features of interpretation focuses in media discourse.

Pragmatic Aspects of Political Media Discourse

The article is devoted to the analysis of the pragmatic aspects of the English political media discourse. Pragmatic approach to the political media discourse takes into account all the aspects of communication including both linguistic and extra-linguistic units, and provides efficient tools for affecting an addressee.

Speech Errors in Political Media Discourse: Metaphors and Idioms

The article analyzes the functioning of metaphors and idioms in modern newspaper political texts; speech errors in the use of these expressive means in the speech of authors and heroes of publications (journalists, politicians, political scientists, etc.) are revealed. The main types of such defects, as well as linguistic and cognitive reasons for their occurrence are established.
