M. P. Shishkin’s image of Switzerland through the lens of the conceptual metaphor

The article studies the role that the conceptual metaphor plays in reconstructing the image of Switzerland. On the material of the literary and historic guidebook The Russian Switzerland by M. P. Shishkin the semantic and stylistic features of metaphors, which are peculiarly encoded definitions of the author’s conceptual meanings, are described. The goal of the paper is to identify the techniques of how the image of Switzerland is conceptualized in its Russian representation.

Meta self-description and self-psychologism as meta-poetic principles of A. I. Solzhenitsyn

The autobiographical character of Solzhenitsyn’s oeuvre, inseparable nature of ethical and aesthetic views, have shaped the author’s unique aesthetics. From the point of view of the author of this article, eliciting the meta-poetic principles defi nes the way of comprehension of Solzhenitsyn’s artistic world, of his ‘phenomenon’. The article presents the analysis of two of Solzhenitsyn’s signifi cant meta-poetic principles: self-meta-description and self-psychologism.

«Notes From Behind the Corner» by A.G. Bitov as a Meta-poetic Text

In the article an attempt is made to analyze the text by A.G. Bitov «Notes From Behind the Corner» from the point of view of meta-poetics. On the basis of the «Notes…» the concept of the «meta-poetic text» is considered, the principles of the inner text space structure are researched. In the course of the «creative chronotopos» research meta-poetic data of this writer’s other texts is drawn, in relation to which a special author’s code is singled out.
