Polyphony or Dialogue? Narrative Strategies in A. I. Solzhenitsyn’s Novel Cancer Ward

The article offers the analysis of narrative strategies in the novel Cancer Ward as a significant component of the author’s creative method, which was being formed in 1950-1960s. The idea of A. I. Solzhenitsyn’s prose being polyphonic is considered controversial.

A. N. Radischev’s Personality and Creative Work in A. P. Skaftymov’s Perception

A. P. Skaftymov’s article «On the style of “The Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow” by A. N. Radischev» is regarded as one of the most significant works about the book of this author. The methodological basis of the research and the specific character of A. P. Skaftymov’s attitude to the formal method in literary criticism are observed. The conclusions are drawn on how up-to-date the ideas of the scientist are for contemporary science.

 

Teleological Quality of A. I. Solzhenitsyn’s Creative Method in the Novel Cancer Ward

The article considers the teleological structure of A. I. Solzhenitsyn’s novel Cancer Ward. The combination of the social teleology polemic towards the Soviet novel and the transcendental teleology is analyzed on the level of the system of images-worldviews, on the levels of composition and language.
