A thematic group through the prism of verbal associations (based on the material of TG “Supernatural beings”)

The article considers the thematic group "Supernatural beings" in the associative-verbal network of Russian native speakers. Russian associative dictionaries, as well as the texts of the Russian National Corpus (the main subcorpus, the period from 1950 to present time), were used as the research material, which allowed us to compare associative data with discourse, to establish correlations between the functional features of the group's units and their associative connections in the minds of Russian native speakers.

Тематическая группа сквозь призму вербальных ассоциаций (на материале ТГ «Сверхъестественные существа»)

В статье рассматривается тематическая группа «Сверхъестественные существа» в ассоциативно-вербальной сети носителей русского языка. Для исследования в качестве материала привлекались ассоциативные словари русского языка, а также тексты Национального корпуса русского языка (основной подкорпус, период 1950 г. — по наст. время), что позволило сопоставить ассоциативные данные с дискурсом, установить корреляции между функциональными особенностями единиц тематической группы и их ассоциативными связями в сознании носителей русского языка.

Associative Experiment as One of the Methods of Studying Linguistic Consciousness in Physicians

The article discusses the potential of a psycholinguistic association experiment in the study of professional and personal distinguishing features of language consciousness in physicians. Research findings support the idea of associative reactions being professionally determined and of their congruency with the parcels recorded in the lexical-semantic field «Disease».

The concept of “love” as a component of native speakers’ linguistic picture of the world: The results of associative experiments

The article analyzes the role of “love” concept in the linguistic picture of the world of modern native speakers of different ages. Based on a number of associative experiments and quantitative analysis the research defines the most frequent semantic categories of the reactions of the respondents belonging to ten age groups. The authors focus on the dynamics of associations within the semantic category “negative emotions and states”
