The nature of argument itself inclines us towards an involuntary concentration on proving that we are right. Speech genre of collaborative search of agreement presupposes solving a different communicative task. The main condition of the solution is being naturally predisposed in favour of the interlocutor, and exerting oneself to be ready – for the sake of achieving mutual understanding – to make probable reasonable concessions to another participant of search initiatives.

The article considers synonymic relationships between derivational patterns within the boundaries of one derivational category. Heterogeneity of factors determining the distribution of synonymic pattern formants identified in the course of research allows to distinguish different types of derivational synonymy.

The article presents an observation on speech communication in families living in Saratov; it investigates the nomination of important everyday objects such as shops, chemist’s, shoe repair shops, etc, from the anthropocentric perspective.

This article deals with religious and medical discourses, which are considered from a sociolinguistic point of view. Their general sociolinguistic characteristic is given, common discursive signs are revealed, speech and communicative strategies and tactics, as well as ways of expressing them are described. A comparative analysis of these discourses has shown the unity of their purpose, means and methods aimed at treating physical and spiritual diseases.
