A. N. Radischev’s Personality and Creative Work in A. P. Skaftymov’s Perception

A. P. Skaftymov’s article «On the style of “The Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow” by A. N. Radischev» is regarded as one of the most significant works about the book of this author. The methodological basis of the research and the specific character of A. P. Skaftymov’s attitude to the formal method in literary criticism are observed. The conclusions are drawn on how up-to-date the ideas of the scientist are for contemporary science.

 

LERMONT IN BIOGRAPHY AND CREATIVE CONSCIOUSNESS OF CHERNYSHEVSKY

The attitude of Chernyshevsky to the work of Lermontov throughout his life is considered. Attention is given to the evolution from the religious and moral context of Chernyshevsky's perception of personality and the poet's works in the student years to prevailing in his assessments of political motives.

 

State-of-the-Nation Dilogy by Jonathan Coe

The dilogy The Rotters’ Club (2001), The Closed Circle (2004), by a British novelist Jonathan Coe is represented as an integral and coherent narration within the tradition of the British state-of-thenation novel. The article analyzes the role of realistic and postmodern practices in highlighting the social and political problems in the dilogy.
