The article is focused on the fates of Classics Studies in the USA in the XX century and in our times. Reviewing her experience in the Department of Classical Studies, at University of Michigan, the author regards distinctive features of teaching Classics, at different levels, and gives a survey of main approaches in Latin and Ancient Greek pedagogy in the USA.
