Emil Ludwig’s Works in Critical Reception

The article is dedicated to the biography and the reception history of the works of the famous in the 1920-1930 german biographer E. Ludwig by the public and the critics.

Berlin Discourse in A. Döblin’s «Berlin Alexanderplatz»

The article considers documentary and pseudo-documentary elements in the image of Berlin in Döblin’s classic novel, the connection between «Neue Sachlichkeit», montage technique and the literary picture of the metropolis, the functions of “Berlin discourse” in the novel.

THEMES OF MOTHERHOOD AND CHILDHOOD IN THE REPUBLIC OF LO ANDREAS-SALOME (GENDER APPROACH)

On the material of the novel "Rodinka" (1903) by the German writer Lou Andreas-Salome, the author's representation of the Russian gender identity is examined, the correlation in her of stereotypes of traditional Orthodox culture and a new vision of gender roles typical for the culture of the turn of the XIX-XX centuries that came to Russia from the West.
