The article applies to compare the color characteristics that indicate the person’s character, personality, expression of feelings and emotions in languages with different structures. It presents the analysis of the model of linguopsychic human world through the prism of color, characterizes it as a special biosocial phenomenon and identifies both similarities and differences in the distribution of color means of expressing feelings and personal qualities considered in both languages.

The article is dedicated to the functioning of detail-based person nominations in modern mass media. The materials of our work are newspaper articles and TV speeches. The article focuses on such points as typology questions and lexico-semantic structure of standard detail-based person nominations, the role of color use in their formation.

The article reviews the semantic field of color terms in Germanic languages: its structure, characteristic features of the basic part and periphery formation, development trends. Based on lexical and semantic groups of color term adjectives of the English and German languages, the authors determine general and specific features in word formation and semantic processes in the semantic field under research.
