The article examines food tradition that exists on the territory of Vytegorsky (Megra) and Totemsky districts in Vologda Oblast (Varnitsy village, Ivoilovo village, Pyatovskaya village, Glubokoe village, Myasokombinat village, Savino village, Sovinskaya village, Tsareva village, Chernyakovo village, Pritykino village, Totma). Research data is dialect recordings of Saratov dialectological text corpus. Food tradition, represented in speech by food names and kitchen tools, is analyzed in a discursive aspect in the article: we focus on the refl ectivity of dialect speech.

The current state of the dialect is notable for a wide and in different ways varied range of regional, social, functional and stylistic layers (levels) in close coordination with one another. The article examines the intralingual borrowings from traditional argot as a key source of the formation of French commun youth argot. The relevance of the article stems from the comprehensive nature of the argotisation of youth speech in France over the last two decades. The research material is the linguistic corpus of youth oral speech Multicultural Paris French (Français Parisien Multiculturel) collected under the supervision of the French linguist F. Gadet.

Legal standards as a basis of religious interaction (On the example of the Book of Leviticus)

The present work is related to such studies, the subject of which is the interaction of various institutional types of discourses. This article will focus on the biblical discourse, which, compared with the legal discourse, is considered by the author as a special type of interaction of believers based on legal norms. A special study of this issue is of undoubted scientific interest, because addressing this problem is important not only for the study of biblical discourse, which, unfortunately, is currently understudied.

Lexical metaphorisation of words representing the INDUSTRY and INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY conceptual domains (Based on popular-science biological English discourse)

The article considers how the conceptual metaphor functions in biological popular science English discourse. The purpose of this paper is to reveal the correlation between the target domain represented by all branches of Biology (biological popular science discourse) and the INDUSTRY and INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY source domains by examining a plethora of metaphoric expressions constituting them. By using continuous sampling method, as well as methods of conceptual and component analysis, the author considers metaphorical expressions which constitute the source domains.

Vertical structuring of the word formation fi eld of compound terms (On the material of the Russian and German clinical terminology)

Compound terms correspond to the criteria of compounds to a diff erent degree, which allows the author to consider them as a fuzzy set, structured from the perspective of the fi eld approach. Word formation fi elds of Russian and German clinical compound terms are structured in accordance with the diff erent compliance degree of terms with compound criteria. The research objective is to structure the word formation fi elds of Russian and German compound terms vertically. The research material constitutes samples of 1545 Russian and 2882 German clinical compound terms.

Integrity of the language system in the aspect of the derivative cognition of the world

The article reveals the integrative qualities of natural language from the perspective of cognitive approach. The purpose of the study is to identify the prerequisites and specifi c illustrations of the language system integrity from the point of view of linguistic and mental interaction. Particular attention is paid to semantic phenomena demonstrating the cognition-driven integrity of the language system.

The place of linguistics in modern sci-fi and fantasy studies

The article analyzes the most significant foreign studies of sci-fi and fantasy in order to define the place of linguistics in this sphere of research, to highlight relevant linguistic problems that require further research. Two main development directions of linguistic studies are emphasized, and the necessity of the further specifically linguistic study of certain problems is established.
